What this Shipping Rate Calculator India does

This tool helps Indian ecommerce sellers estimate shipping rates before dispatch. Instead of checking courier dashboards manually for every order, you can calculate slab-based shipping using first 500g rate, additional 500g rate, COD fee, RTO fee, handling charges and GST. For accurate billing weight, use this calculator together with the Volumetric Weight Calculator.

It is practical for Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho and D2C sellers who want to understand whether shipping cost is eating their margin. For deeper marketplace margin planning, also use the Amazon Profit Calculator and Flipkart Profit Calculator.

How to use

1Enter weight and dimensions

Add actual weight and package size. The tool calculates volumetric weight and picks the higher chargeable weight.

2Add courier slab rates

Enter first 500g rate, additional 500g rate, COD fee, RTO fee, handling charge and GST.

3Calculate or bulk upload

Calculate a single order, or upload CSV files for bulk shipping rate reports and download results.

Example

Suppose a COD parcel weighs 1.2 kg and the courier first 500g charge is ₹45 with ₹25 for every additional 500g. The calculator rounds the chargeable weight into 500g slabs, adds COD fee, optional handling fee, RTO fee and GST, then shows the final shipping charge. This helps you decide whether to increase product price, add shipping fee, or improve packaging to reduce volumetric weight.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is chargeable weight in shipping?

Chargeable weight is the higher value between actual weight and volumetric weight. Courier companies usually bill ecommerce parcels using chargeable weight.

How are 500g slabs calculated?

The calculator divides chargeable weight by 0.5 kg and rounds up. A 1.2 kg parcel becomes 3 slabs because it uses 1.5 kg billing slab.

Does this calculator include GST?

Yes. You can enter GST percentage separately. The tool shows shipping before GST, GST amount and final shipping charge.

Can I calculate many orders together?

Yes. Upload up to 10 CSV files and download processed CSV reports. The ZIP download works when the JSZip library loads; otherwise the processed CSV files download separately.

Is this exact courier pricing?

No. This is an estimate based on the rates you enter. Final rates may differ depending on courier partner, seller agreement, zone mapping, fuel surcharge and platform rules.
